Jackson Six
| | My blogless friend Wendy just sent me this. I have no idea where it came from. Can't find a link on Google. I've always admired RageBoy's way with pictures like this, and thought of sending it to him; but then I realized I needed some filler today, so here ya go. |
| | By the way, if you're looking for Beatles lyrics on the Web, good fucking luck. Try clicking on any of the links here. You can find some, but there are a lot of dead ends. Why? Seems the copyright police don't want us to remember completely the words that were burned into our brains over all those years. |
Go long
| | It's another one of those sunrises this morning here in Santa Barbara, where it has been raining like Niagra for days. There's still water in the garage, and the sump I crammed down the collection cistern at one end of the crawl space under the house kicks on every few minutes, sending a surge of water to the sink behind the dryer. Fortunately, all the stuff I have in storage down there is either up on blocks or in hard plastic containers. |
| | Well, I'm goin' out West where I belong Where the days are short and the nights are long... |
| | As I recall, the Rivieras were from Indiana somewhere. California Sun was their only hit. Its moment in the Top 40 sun came in May of '64. The prior summer our family visited California on a long road trip. That November President Kennedy was shot (soundtrack: Marvin Gaye's Can I Get a Witness?). I wouldn't get back to California for another 21 years. |
| | Anyway, we've got lots family here today. One daughter came from Maryland a couple days ago, and the other drove down from The City yesterday. Our six-year-old boy is in a state of maximal Christmas anticipation. Life is good. |
